Best of British

The sunshine this week has been abundant. I was at Stowe again yesterday and for the first time in weeks was able to don suncream instead of a raincoat. The grounds look fantastic and were enjoyed yesterday by hoards of young families picnicking amongst the trees and monuments. I managed to grab a few pics in between pruning Lime Trees.
The mood of the nation this week was steadily steered towards optimism and culminated last night in the opening ceremony in London of the 2012 Olympic Games. It was completely bonkers!…and absolutely fantastic. While I have lived in the UK for over 20 years I was envious last night of not being able to claim to be British. The show was laced with energy, creativity, spectacle and above all a uniqueness that cannot be authenticated anywhere else in the world. Bloody marvellous!
